The Department of School Education and Literacy of the Ministry of Education will organize the emblematic week from January 17 to 21 as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations. As part of this emblematic week, the Department of School Education and Literacy will organize a series of events. These will include a two-day international webinar on toys and games for playing, making and learning. The webinar on inclusive education will be organized in partnership with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) on January 17 in virtual and physical mode. The topic of the webinar will be Ed Tech startups focused on children with special needs.

Senior officials from the Ministry of Education, school principals, state education coordinators, parents and other stakeholders will participate in the event. The main goal of the webinar is to educate parents and teachers about the technology and assistive devices available for children with special needs. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will organize the 27th edition of the National Conference of its Sahodaya School Complexes on the theme ‘PUNARNAVA-REDISCOVERY OF INDIA @75’ in collaboration with the Sahodaya School Complex, Gwalior from 17 to January 21 in a hybrid mode.

The conference aims to engage attendees to co-create and contribute to a sustainable future. It also aims to enable principals and management of CBSE-affiliated schools to understand the new and innovative policies and practices launched by the board under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

A two-day international webinar will be organized on January 20-21 with the aim of rediscovering the role of toys in children’s cognitive development and promoting the art of creating toys using inexpensive/free materials that do not are not only ecologically sustainable. but stimulate creativity, collaboration and problem-solving skills in children. During the two days of the webinar, the focus will be on different aspects of toys at all stages of school education in all subjects and their mapping; educational implications of toys; toys and games such as learning through play and making; living/local tradition of toy making; toy and game design courses as skills courses in school education, etc.

The outcome of the webinar will set a roadmap for the infusion and integration of toys and games into education at all stages. The Ministry of Higher Education also organizes the “National Innovation Week” from January 10 to 17. The Innovation Week shed light on the various initiatives undertaken to raise awareness for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in India.

An online symposium on “Building an Innovation Ecosystem in Education Institutions”, a webinar on empowering higher education institutions in cybersecurity, the virtual launch of faculty capacity building in as Master Trainers for Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) under Unnat Bharat were organized during the iconic week.
