Technology Integration Manager, Innovation Academy job with UNIVERSITY COLLEGE DUBLIN (UCD)

Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Head of technology integration in UCD Innovation Academy

The Sustainable Living Lab at UCD Innovation Academy brings together students, teachers and operational teams to research and test sustainable solutions and new technologies, improve our teaching programs and solve real challenges using the Innovation Academy as test bench. It is part of the €17.5 million Convene program and is based in our state-of-the-art facilities at the O’Brien Center for Science at UCD, incorporating our new Makerspace and MakerLab.

Pilot projects initiated to date include our partnership with the UpCycle farm which acts as an example in sustainable urban food production, the transformation of used coffee cup lids into raw materials for 3D printing, the construction of laboratory furniture from mycelium, our workspaces of the future in virtual reality. program, and our Designing the Future elective program which uses our Makerspace to enable students to develop practical skills essential to driving the circular economy.

After a successful pilot project, we are now ready to expand our Sustainable Living Lab with two Technology Integration Leads, each leading one of the following functions:

1) Digital technologies with direct application to EdTech, such as cloud-based platforms and software, virtual and augmented reality, automation and machine learning, internet of things, learning environments and remote and hybrid collaboration; Where

2) Creative technologies such as 3D printing, robotics and artificial intelligence, internet of things, drones, laser cutting and rapid prototyping. These roles are critical to ensuring that emerging technologies are applied appropriately to improve the learning and working environment for students, staff, and collaboration partners.

Reporting to the Business Innovation Manager, the Technology Integration Managers will work in conjunction with the Sustainability Solutions Manager to understand needs, innovate and test new approaches. Together they will lead the development of our Sustainable Living Lab and the services provided to the AI ​​team, our programs, the Convene program and the wider university through a process of exploration, experimentation and communication.

As the Technology Integration Lead at the Sustainable Living Lab, you’ll ensure our students, Innovation Academy, and partner programs are ready to thrive in a time of disruption and transition.

Wage scale: €65,000 – €72,009 per year (off scale)

The appointment will be made on the beach and in accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Finance
