PUJA Academy Sdn Bhd (PASB), in collaboration with Technology Association of Malaysia (TAM) and Plytec Engineering Sdn Bhd, recently held a series of webinars on the topic of “Integrated Digital Delivery (IDD) Solution”.
Guest Speakers Gabriel Chiew, Building Information Modeling (BIM) Application Support Manager, and Nur Ain binti Parizan, BIM Coordinator, spoke in two sessions on April 14.
Gabriel Chiew presented the topic “Concept of BIM as an operating technology (OT) and information management system (IMS) for the built environment”.
The presentation focused on the fundamental concepts of BIM, presented from the angle of the digitization of work contents and processes. It included an early-stage BIM implementation in a real development project to illustrate real-time collaboration based on a Common Data Environment (CDE) and ISO-standard BIM Execution Plan (BEP).
Nur Ain presented the implementation of a real construction project based on BIM coordination control, beyond 3D visualization with information-rich modeling, building information management with BIM that puts the focus on communication and work process procedures.
The second part of the series took place on April 25 via Zoom. The seminar was moderated by Louis Tay from TAM.
Tay presented articles on “Built Asset Management with Essential Technology and Digital Documentation” and “Building and Construction Technology Digital Transformation,” both of which provided the strategies and roadmap for the adoption of BIM.
The presentations aimed to give attendees an overview of BIM technology and how it could save time and improve productivity, in line with industrialization in the Digital Blueprint 2025 to “drive technology adoption by training on key technological solutions”.
Thirty participants consisting of members of the Institution of Surveyors, Engineers and Architects (PUJA), public sector workers and the public attended the webinars.
