Edo will strengthen the financial literacy of 600 MSMEs

The Edo State Government is organizing a financial education workshop for 600 Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the three senate districts of the state.

In a statement, Director of MSME Development of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Cooperatives of Edo State, Omonbude Oyedoh, said that the financial literacy workshop is organized in collaboration with GIZ/ SEDIN-GOPA on April 19, 2022.

He noted, “The target is to capture 600 MSMEs in the 3 senatorial districts of Edo State – 400 from Edo South, 100 from Edo North and 100 from Edo Central.

“The aim of the program is to improve the ability of MSMEs to access credit, financial management capacity, marketing, networking, etc., which were observed in a needs assessment carried out by the ministry as gaps operations of these MSMEs”.

According to him, 100 MSMEs have been trained in the first phase of the program, noting, “The program continues with the start of the training of the 2nd batch of 150 MSMEs which is expected to start on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 9:30 a.m., at Hall of the ICT Agency, Odigie Oyegun Public Service Center, Avenue Okada, GRA, Benin City.
